There are billions more of us.

Why do we need to tax billionaires?
It's easy to forget that a million and a billion are very different things. A millionaire is far closer to the average person than a billionaire. To spend $1 billion in a year, you would need to spend around $2.74 million every day! Another way of visualising this massive difference is by looking at seconds. For example, 1 million seconds is 12 days, while 1 billion seconds is 31 years!
Now let's look at the wealthiest person on earth, $richestPerson$, who currently has $richestPersonWealth$, which means they could spend around $wealthPerDay$ every day for a year.
No matter how you look at it, this is an unsustainable amount of wealth in the hands of so few. With so many global and social issues facing humanity, it's instrumental that we do not rely on the "kindness" of billionaires to help us. Instead, we must ensure governments are accountable to the people (us!) and have the funds to invest in our futures and not shareholders' profits.
How can I make a difference?
As with so many global issues, it can be daunting knowing where to start and ultimately feel like an uphill battle, but it doesn't have to be this way. There are around 2,755 billionaires today, while almost 8 billion are not billionaires. Together we're strong. Together we can build a better world.
We've seen global movements grow in strength in all of our lives, and many are instrumental in achieving positive change. But, more than ever, we must put aside our differences and unite under one clear goal - billionaires shouldn't exist.
The more we understand, the more likely this movement will succeed. Talk with family and friends about this and get them to care and fight for this. Taxing billionaires into extinction is instrumental in providing solutions to countless problems worldwide.
How do I contact my representatives?
It's vital that you reach out to your representatives and press them on this issue. If your current representative isn't prepared to back the movement, you should clarify that their inaction will cost them your vote. Through the power of collective action, we can peacefully make change happen. It all starts with a conversation.
